Nestlé UK signs up to 15-year PPA with Ørsted

Nestlé UK is to consume only electricity generated by wind power after signing a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Ørsted.
According to Edie, Nestlé UK will purchase 125GWh of renewable energy annually from the Race Bank Offshore Wind Farm for the next 15 years.
The deal will cover 50% of Nestlé UK’s power consumption from 1 May. This means the company’s entire consumption will be covered by renewable energy from certificates.
The 31MW wind farm was commissioned in 2018. It has a total capacity of 573MW from 91 Siemens Gamesa 6MW wind turbines.
The agreement is Ørsted’s largest UK fixed-price PPA deal and its second PPA customer after Northumbrian Water in February 2019.
